- Only DisabledGo visits every venue on site and in person with experienced access surveyors so that disabled people can trust the information and that disabled people will use the information;
- Only DisabledGo organizes widespread community consultations for every area, town, borough or city authority that has the DisabledGo service;
- Only DisabledGo establishes Steering Groups of local disabled people to monitor the performance and effectiveness of the guides and develop best practice even further;
- Only DisabledGo encourages a local 'one-stop shop for all things disability' by putting Community Groups, their logos and links, on the local homepages for no charge;
- Only DisabledGo promotes disability to over 1,000 local businesses in area, distributing FREE disability awareness training materials written in partnership with the Royal National Institute of the Deaf, Royal National Institute of the Blind, Mencap, and the British Council of Disabled People;
- Only DisabledGo contacts every venue on the guide and revisits every venue that reports a structural change during the annual renewal process to ensure that local authority investment is protected and enhanced;
- Only DisabledGo promotes the guide and disability with local media launches;
- Only DisabledGo showcases local authority best practice and promotes disability to local citizens by producing window-stickers promoting the local guide with the sponsoring local authority's logo on;
- Only DisabledGo brings private sector finance to part-fund the local guide;
As you can see, with individual on-site visits, a six year research methodology designed by disabled people for disabled people, community consultations, steering groups, launches, free disability training materials, advocacy to businesses, locating a local area into a national access mission, DisabledGo is so much more than any other access guide.
